NT Parks Visitor Pass and Litchfield fees: three systems
Why there is no single Litchfield ticket — NT Parks Visitor Pass, camping categories and the Tabletop walk fee are three different checkouts. Published rates at last review 16 August 2026.

Best for: First-time bookers confused by “entry fee” and “Litchfield tickets” search results
Unofficial guide — always verify track conditions, closures, fees and safety with NT Parks. Place photos are Wikimedia Commons / CC where credited — not official NT Parks imagery and not live conditions.
Some stay, tour and gear links may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Park fees, camping bookings and walking permits are never affiliated.

Search results talk about “Litchfield tickets” and “entry fee” as if there were one gate. There is not. There is a Visitor Pass for most visitors to NT-managed parks, plus separate bookings for camping, plus a separate overnight walking fee if you are on the Tabletop Track.
Figures below were published on nt.gov.au at last review (13 September 2026). They can change. Confirm on the official fee pages before you pay. This site never affiliates official park fees.
If you only do one thing before you leave Darwin or Batchelor: buy the Visitor Pass if you need one, and stop calling camping or Tabletop a “ticket”.
System 1 — NT Parks Visitor Pass

Magnetic Termite Mounds
Inas (Wikivoyage) · Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
Required for interstate and overseas visitors to most NT-managed parks including Litchfield. NT residents do not need it but may be asked for proof such as an NT driver licence. Online purchase only, in advance (parkbookings.nt.gov.au), or 1300 281 121. It does not cover camping, Tabletop walking fees, commercial tours, or Parks Australia parks.
Published rates at last review (13 September 2026): 1-day adult $10 / child $5 / family $25 / concession $8; 3-day $20 / $10 / $50 / $16; 2-week $30 / $15 / $75 / $24; 1-month $45 / $22 / $110 / $36; annual $60 / $30 / $150 / $48. [VERIFY] live before you pay.
Buy it on Wi-Fi in Darwin or Batchelor, not on Litchfield Park Road with no signal. It is not a tour ticket and it is not a swim permit.
System 2 — Camping
Park-managed sites book on parkbookings.nt.gov.au only. Published Category A $15 adult / $8 child / $38 family; Category B $10 / $5 / $25; Category D $20 / $10 / $50. [VERIFY] the live listing. Display the tag. No on-site payment.
Wangi Falls: Category A, caravan-friendly, showers. Florence Falls: 2WD and 4WD areas, Category A. Walker Creek: walk-in, Category B. Tjaynera (Sandy Creek): 4WD, Category B (toilet and shower on the official Reynolds page). Surprise Creek: 4WD, Category B. Central Valley: Category D, locked gate, key collection after booking (Palmerston permits office, Territory Wildlife Park at Berry Springs, or by arrangement). Education camp: Category A, groups/schools.
Campground hosts are often at Florence, Wangi and Tjaynera in peak May–September. A Batchelor motel does not include a camp site. This site never affiliates park camping.
System 3 — Tabletop overnight walk fee
The Tabletop Track attracts the NT multi-day walking-trail fee: published $25 per person per night (adult or child 5–17), capped at $125 for 6+ days. Under-fives free on the official table. No family rate. [VERIFY] the live cart. Camping fees still apply on top — usually Category B at track campgrounds.
The Visitor Pass does not cover this. A Florence or Wangi night on the sealed road is ordinary camping, not a Tabletop walking fee, unless you are actually on the overnight track.
Book the walk fee and each night’s camp before you leave town. Rangers cannot print your life at a link-track junction.
Never one combined headline figure
Do not add a 3-day pass plus two Category A nights plus a Tabletop fee and publish “Litchfield costs $X”. Those are three checkouts that change independently. Quote each system, label the review date, and send people to parkbookings.
Commercial Darwin day tours are a fourth checkout again. None of those replace the Visitor Pass if you need one.
Checkout order that actually works
Visitor Pass if required → camp nights if you are staying in the park → Tabletop walking fee + track camps if you are walking overnight → Batchelor or Darwin bed if you are not camping.
Screenshot every confirmation. Paper backup in a zip bag. Limited phone signal is official — do not plan to buy the pass at the termite-mound car park.
What this site will never sell you
Official park fees, camping and walking permits. Those stay on government checkouts. Optional stays in Batchelor / Darwin and gear searches may be affiliate — after you have the official bookings straight.
What goes wrong
“I bought a tour so I don’t need a pass” → you still need the pass if you are interstate or overseas and you enter the park as a visitor. Fix: parkbookings first.
Kakadu pass at Litchfield → wrong park system. Fix: NT Parks Visitor Pass is not Parks Australia.
Pay-on-arrival camping → there is no on-site payment. Fix: book before you leave town.
One Facebook “total cost” → you mixed three systems. Fix: quote each table separately and [VERIFY].
FAQ
Tap a question to expand the answer.
How much is the NT Parks Visitor Pass?
Published 1-day rates at last review (16 August 2026): adult $10, child $5, family $25, concession $8. Longer products scale up (3-day adult $20, 2-week $30, 1-month $45, annual $60). [VERIFY] live on nt.gov.au / parkbookings before you pay. Buy online only, or call 1300 281 121.
Does the pass include camping or Tabletop?
No. The pass is entry only. Camping is a separate parkbookings checkout by category. Tabletop overnight walking is a third fee on top of camping. Never add them into one headline number and call it “the Litchfield ticket”.
Does the pass work at Kakadu or Uluru?
No. Kakadu and Uluru–Kata Tjuta are Parks Australia parks with a separate pass system. The NT Parks Visitor Pass does not cover them.
Can I pay for camping at the park?
No for park-managed sites. Book on parkbookings.nt.gov.au before arrival. Display the tag. There is no on-site payment. Walk-up hope is not a plan in June–August.
What are Litchfield camping categories?
Published at last review (16 August 2026): Category A $15 adult / $8 child / $38 family; Category B $10 / $5 / $25; Category D $20 / $10 / $50. [VERIFY] the live listing. Wangi and Florence are Category A; Walker Creek walk-in is Category B; Central Valley (key, 4WD) is Category D.
Do NT residents need a Visitor Pass?
No. NT residents are exempt. Carry proof such as an NT driver licence — rangers may ask. Residents still pay camping and any Tabletop walking fee.
