This website is an independent, unofficial guide published for general information and trip planning. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representative of Parks and Wildlife Commission of the Northern Territory, the Northern Territory Government, Parks Australia, or any other government agency or commercial operator unless explicitly stated.

We acknowledge the Koongurrukun, Mak Mak Marranunggu, Werat and Warray people as Traditional Owners of Litchfield country and their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. This site does not speak for Traditional Owner groups or for NT Parks, and it does not invent cultural detail.

Outdoor recreation involves risk. Heat, crocodiles, flooding, fire, uneven rock, scrub typhus and limited or no mobile reception are real at Litchfield. You are responsible for your decisions, fitness, water, navigation, weather assessment, swimming judgement and compliance with park rules (including Be Crocwise and signed swimming only). Florence and Buley are often signed for swimming when open; Wangi is seasonal and crocodile-risk country — last year’s photo is not a permit. Always verify track status, fees, swimming signs, roads and safety information on official NT Parks resources, parkbookings.nt.gov.au and roadreport.nt.gov.au.

Dollar figures on this guide are published rates at last review and sit in three separate systems— NT Parks Visitor Pass, park camping, and the Tabletop overnight walking-trail fee. None of those official checkouts are affiliated here. Figures change.

Official-alert notes on this site are a dated snapshot (reviewed ). They are not a live feed. Confirm the morning you go on the Darwin region park-open page.

Content is provided “as is” without warranties of accuracy or completeness. Dollar figures, opening hours and activity status change. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operators of this site are not liable for loss or injury arising from use of the information here. This does not exclude rights you cannot contract out of under the Australian Consumer Law.

Stay-page card photos are place-context only — they do not depict specific hotels listed on Booking.com.

This site does not publish a public contact email. For expectations and official channels, see Contact.

Images & photo credits

Primary photographs on this site are real images from Wikimedia Commons, used under their stated Creative Commons licences. A small set of plates are labelled AI-generated illustrations (for example Lost City, Tabletop and Batchelor context) — they are never passed off as photographs. Author, licence and source file are listed below and are also shown in image captions where practical. They are not official NT Parks photographs and may not show exact current conditions, swimming status or facilities. Always rely on NT Parks and on-site signs for the real place.

Licence short names are as recorded on Commons (e.g. CC BY-SA 4.0). For full licence text, follow each file link. We adapt images for web display (resize/compress); attribution still applies. This site may display ads and affiliate links — we only use licences that allow commercial reuse (CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC0). We do not use CC BY-NC works, or government tourism files that lack a Creative Commons deed.

A Commons reuse licence is not an NT Parks filming, drone or commercial-activity permit. We do not use identifiable people — especially minors — as place photography. We do not use Cape Crawford / Gulf “Lost City” aerials as Litchfield Lost City.

No Blue Mountains, Nitmiluk or other-park scenery is used as Litchfield photography.
