Itineraries
Guide updated · verify NT Parks the morning you go
These plans are for real Top End days — heat, crocodiles and split fees included — not a “see everything” checklist. Pick the plan that matches your group, then open it for a timeline, packing notes and what to skip. Print from any plan page, or grab the free planner PDF / HTML anytime.
Every itinerary defers to NT Parks for track status, swimming and alerts. Tabletop only appears where the plan names it — and only when you hold official bookings.
Which plan fits you?
- One-day sealed — first visit; termite mounds + Florence + Buley (or Wangi). Not Lost City.
- Two-day — sealed icons plus a second morning at Wangi or Cascades.
- 4WD day — Lost City and Reynolds Track sites. High-clearance only.
- Tabletop overview — booked multi-day only; not a day walk.
If two plans both sound good, pick the shorter one. You can always do more once you are there. You cannot add hours to the drive home.

Full day from Darwin or Batchelor (a Darwin return is feasible but tight)
One day: sealed-road icons
First visit on sealed 2WD roads — termite mounds, Florence and Buley (or Wangi)
One sealed-road day: leave Darwin at dawn (or wake in Batchelor), Visitor Pass already bought, magnetic termite mounds, then Florence Falls plus Buley Rockhole — or Wangi instead. Do not stack Wangi, Florence and Lost City.

Two days from Batchelor or a booked park camp
Two days: sealed icons then Wangi country
Seeing Florence and Wangi without a 14-hour Darwin day
Day 1 sealed icons (termite mounds, Florence, Buley) and overnight in Batchelor or an official park camp. Day 2 Wangi Falls plus Greenant Creek, or Cascades / Walker Creek if you want quieter water.

Full dry-season day in a high-clearance 4WD
4WD day: Lost City and Reynolds Track
Equipped 4WD groups who already understand the sealed icons
Lost City sandstone pillars plus Reynolds Track to Tjaynera (Sandy Creek) and/or Surprise Creek. High-clearance 4WD, water crossings, dry season only. Check roadreport. This is not a sealed-road add-on after Florence.

2–4 walking days plus buffer nights
Tabletop Track overview
People deciding whether to book — this is not a live permit
A planning outline for the 39–46 km Tabletop circuit: three fee systems, water, heat, limited comms, whether to carry a PLB, and ways out via link tracks to Florence, Wangi and Walker. Book the official pass and camps first, then use this to sequence the walking days.
