- About 30 minutes to Rocky Falls; about 1 hour for the creek track
- Rocky Falls 1.2 km return; Walker Creek track 3.5 km return

Where you start
Walker Creek car park / day-use picnic area
Start at the signed Walker Creek car park on Litchfield Park Road. 2WD to the car park in normal conditions; you walk to camps with your gear. Day visitors swim at the picnic-area holes and at Rocky Falls (about 600 m) when signed open. Do not treat occupied camps as your lounge.
How to get there
- Sealed Litchfield Park Road from Batchelor. Visitor Pass if required. Check park-open and, if you are camping, your parkbookings tag.
- The creek precinct is 2WD to the car park. The furthest campsite is 1.8 km walk-in. That is not a 4WD campground.
- If you are starting Tabletop here, you still need the walk fee, camp bookings, log book and the official map. Parking at Walker does not count as a Tabletop booking.
How to do it (step by step)
- Day visit: read swim signs. Swim near the picnic area if open, or walk 600 m to Rocky Falls day-use (1.2 km return, Grade 3, about 30 minutes).
- Longer day: Walker Creek track, 3.5 km return, about 1 hour, Grade 3 — access to camps and toward Tabletop. Stay on the track. Respect privacy at occupied sites. Swimming is discouraged at sites campers are using.
- Overnight: Category B, seven sites, each with a fire pit and table. Book parkbookings.nt.gov.au before you arrive. Display the tag. Walk your gear in. Boil water. Pack out rubbish — no bins.
- Toilets: pit toilets near the car park, between sites 2 and 3, and about 300 m past site 4. Use them. If you must go elsewhere, official guidance is 100 m from camp and water, 30 cm hole in soil.
- Do not wander onto Tabletop without the bookings, water plan and group you would take from Florence or Wangi.
What to expect
Walker Creek is the shady sealed-road alternative: pandanus, walk-in sites, a modest day walk, and water when signed open. It feels more camp-and-creek than postcard-and-coach. That is why the seven sites sell.
Day visitors are welcome. They are not entitled to a camper’s hole. Walk past, swim at day-use, leave quietly.
Logistics
Visitor Pass if required. Camping is Category B on parkbookings — separate from the pass and from any Tabletop walk fee. Wood BBQs, ECD, pit toilets. Boil water. No showers like Florence or Wangi. No generators, no pets, no fireworks — park-wide rules.
Tabletop access from Walker is real. It is also how unprepared day walkers wander onto a Grade 4 circuit. If you did not book the walk, turn around at the signed day-walk end.

Extra tips
- Book Walker camps early — official note: very popular, and site numbers have changed, so check the map against your booking.
- Shadier than the big lawns. Still heat. Still crocs when closed.
- Good sealed-road night if Wangi and Florence are full — if you can walk the gear.
- ECD at the precinct. Still tell someone your plan.
Often paired with Tabletop Track— only if energy and weather allow.
